Allah has distinguished the Prophet, peace be upon him, with many unique characteristics, some related to his prophethood, and others specific to him, not shared by his nation. Jurists have dedicated chapters and sections to these, some of which were summarized by Khalil ibn Ishaq al-Maliki as: the obligation of Duha (forenoon) prayer, Tahajjud (night vigil) prayer, the use of miswak, giving his wives a choice, divorcing a woman he no longer desired, and responding to one who prays. In Asna al-Matalib, Sheikh Zakariya al-Ansari began by listing what was obligatory for the Prophet but not for his nation, and then what was forbidden for him. In Kashshaf al-Qina', it is mentioned that his unique characteristics include obligations, prohibitions, permissible acts, and disliked acts. The Fiqh Encyclopedia clarified that these characteristics are of various types: specific legal rulings (taklifiyyah) for him, eschatological privileges like intercession, worldly virtues such as his truthfulness, and miracles like the splitting of the moon. Sheikh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen highlighted other characteristics, including: his being the Seal of the Prophets, the Master of the Messengers, that faith is not complete without believing in him, that no judgment will be passed between people except through his intercession, that his nation will precede others in entering Paradise, that he is the possessor of the Banner of Praise, the Praiseworthy Station, the Visited Cistern (al-Hawdh al-Mawrud), the Imam and orator of the Prophets, and that his nation is the best of nations.
