Is it necessary to use "sidr" (lote tree leaves) when performing ghusl (ritual bath) with water and sidr upon entering Islam, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded Qais ibn Asim?

There is a difference of opinion regarding the ghusl (ritual bath) of a disbeliever upon embracing Islam. The preponderant view is that it is obligatory if, during their disbelief, they committed acts that necessitate ghusl. As for the use of Sidr (lote tree leaves), it is not obligatory in ghusl. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded its use for the sake of thorough cleansing and perfuming the body.
