Why was the month of Ramadan chosen specifically over all other months, and is there wisdom behind that?

Allah Almighty specifically designated Ramadan for the descent of the Qur'an within it, and Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Decree) is in it. Allah chose it for wisdoms known only to Him. He selects from His creation whatever He wills, be it angels, messengers, times, or places.
