Must dust be wiped off the Mus'haf, and is one sinful for leaving it?

Dusting off the Mus'haf (copy of the Qur'an) is an act of venerating and preserving the Book of Allah the Almighty. Ibn Al-Nahhas narrated from Al-Halimi in his Minhaj that among the ways of venerating Allah the Almighty and His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, is to dust off the Mus'haf and the books of Sunnah, and not to place any household items on them. The questioner and others should respect the Mus'hafs and dust off any dust that clings to them as much as possible. However, if one does not do so, they do not commit a sin, because it is not due to their action, and dust is difficult to guard against, and it is not inherently repulsive. If a person were obligated to wipe them every time they saw dust on them, otherwise they would sin, that would entail great hardship.
