What is the ruling on one who accidentally damages the pages of the Mushaf while attempting to clean it, and how is it permissible to clean the Book of Allah?

Cleaning the Mushaf (Qur’an) and preserving it is a lawful act, and it is part of revering Allah's Book and His sacred rites. It has been reported in the research of the Council of Senior Scholars that cleaning the Mushaf and dusting it off, as well as the books of Sunan, is a part of venerating Allah and His Messenger. It also states that it is not permissible to expose the Mushaf to dust by writing Qur’anic verses on walls. However, it is not permissible to clean it with anything that would damage its pages; rather, dust should be removed by shaking it off or wiping it with a dry cloth. The Ummah (Muslim community) has unanimously agreed on the obligation to revere, sanctify, and safeguard the Qur’an.
