If the garment is light and does not prevent water from reaching the body, then it is sufficient to circulate water over the body while wearing it, because the essential matter is the water reaching the skin. However, if it is thick, then it must be removed or water must be made to penetrate beneath it. It is permissible to seek the help of one's daughter for ghusl (ritual bath) provided that one guards against direct looking at or touching the private parts. Delk (rubbing the body) is not obligatory in ghusl according to the majority of scholars.
