Is the marriage invalid due to the husband's accusing his wife of adultery and cursing her with obscene language?

Spouses should think well of each other and avoid leveling accusations without proof. If the husband's accusation against his wife's honor and his insulting her are proven, this is a reprehensible act, slander (qadhf), and a grave sin, but it does not nullify the marriage. The husband is advised to fear Allah and repent sincerely; otherwise, it is better for the wife to seek divorce (talaq (definition)) or annulment (khul'). The wife is permitted to respond in kind, but with sharia (definition)-compliant regulations, and deliberation is necessary to avoid complicating problems.
