What is the way to deal with my mother-in-law accusing me of being cold and ill-mannered, simply because I am quiet and do not boast about my accomplishments, even though my husband appreciates this? And is it wrong of me to be bothered when my husband speaks casually with his brothers' wives?

The questioner is advised to be patient with her husband's mother and to honor her, for by doing so, she will gain her husband's love and affection. She must also know that the husband's brother is a stranger to his brother's wife, so it is not permissible for him to be in seclusion with her, nor is it permissible for the brothers' wives to appear unveiled before him or to mix with him, even if they are veiled.
