Is it necessary to renew the marriage contract if the disbelieving husband converted to Islam for the sake of marriage, and then his heart became guided to Islam after a period, knowing that he has adhered to the pillars of Islam since his initial conversion?

If a man pronounces the two testimonies of faith (Shahadatayn) and outwardly observes the rituals of Islam, such as prayer, fasting, and Zakat (definition), and nothing emanates from him to indicate his lack of conviction, then he is a Muslim, and the rulings of Islam apply to him. There is no need to renew the marriage contract. However, if he admits that he did not embrace Islam out of conviction and sincerity from his heart, then his Islam is null and void, and he remains upon his disbelief. In this case, the marriage is invalid and must be dissolved immediately. The children from this marriage are attributed to the husband if he believed the marriage to be valid. After the man is guided and truly believes in Islam, it suffices to renew the marriage with its pillars: the woman's guardian (wali), two just witnesses, a dowry (mahr), and a formula indicating the marriage.
