The answer

The ' (waiting period) is the duration a woman waits and refrains from marrying after her husband's death or divorce, and Allah the Almighty has prescribed it. If the 'iddah ends at any time, the woman becomes permissible for marriage, and she is definitively separated from her husband in the case of a revocable divorce. There is no difference whether it ends on a Friday or any other day, due to the Almighty's saying: "And when they have fulfilled their term, then there is no blame upon you for what they do with themselves in a lawful manner." It is not permissible for a woman to prolong the 'iddah period or delay announcing its end in order to obtain the rights of a woman undergoing 'iddah, because that is treachery and consuming wealth unjustly, which is forbidden.
