"Revocation is a right of the husband as long as the wife is revocably divorced and within her waiting period (). It does not require the wife's or her guardian's consent or knowledge. Revocation occurs through explicit verbal statements such as, "I have taken her back" (arjatuha) or "I have revoked her divorce" (raja’tuha). It is not valid through mere intention, except according to the Maliki school regarding internal speech. It is only valid during the waiting period. If revocation occurs during the iddah, the wife returns to the husband's marital bond. If the iddah ends without revocation, she is not permissible for him except through a new marriage contract."
