If a husband divorces his wife with a single pronouncement before consummation or a valid seclusion (khalwa (definition) sahiha), she becomes irrevocably separated from him, and no further divorce can be pronounced upon her after that. The woman becomes a stranger to him, and it is not permissible for him to seclude himself with her or speak to her except out of necessity. The matter must be presented to scholars specialized in issuing fatwas.
