Is a wife's refusal to stay overnight at her in-laws' house—due to health and psychological reasons and the presence of the husband's brother in the house—considered an act of nushuz that permits the husband to abandon her and treat her harshly?

The foundation of marital life is understanding, compassion, and good companionship. The wife must obey her husband in what is right. Therefore, she must fulfill his request to stay overnight at his parents' house, unless there is a legitimate impediment or harm involved. The husband should appreciate his wife's health and psychological circumstances. Both spouses are advised to uphold the limits of Allah in their interactions and to be aware of their mutual rights. The wife should improve her treatment of her husband's mother and not refrain from visiting her husband's family unless it is a cause for something forbidden.
