The answer

It is a right of the wife upon her husband that he not be absent from her for more than six months without an excuse. If the absence is for a need, such as earning a living, then it is permissible even if it exceeds six months. The husband must provide for his wife if he travels. The wife must obey her husband by not leaving the house except with his permission. Even if her father orders her to leave, obedience to the husband takes precedence over obedience to parents. It is not permissible for her to leave if her husband forbids her, even if his father or mother permits her. As for seeking divorce, it is not permissible without a legitimate reason, and patience and good companionship are advised. The husband is advised not to be absent from home without need, for returning to one's family provides psychological happiness and moral chastity.
