The answer

Marriage is a great ritual, and children solidify the marital bond, settling into an environment where they witness the harmony between their parents. Each spouse should know and fulfill the rights of the other and live together amicably. A wife's jealousy over her husband marrying another is natural, but she does not have the right to prevent him from what Allah has permitted him. Rather, she has the right to demand justice from him. She does not have the right to deny him any of his rights, or pressure him, or ask him to divorce the other wife. A man marrying another woman is not betrayal. Divorce can lead to the dispersal of the family and the loss of children, but with patience, the ordeal can be overcome.
