How does a non-resident traveler pray and fast?

It is permissible for a traveler to shorten the four-rak'ah prayers and to break their fast in Ramadan (definition) if their journey is lawful and not less than 83 kilometers, after passing the houses of their village. It is stipulated that no matters occur that would interrupt the ruling of travel, such as residing for four days, excluding the days of entry and exit, or returning to one's homeland, or arriving in a country where one has a wife. It should be noted that fasting while traveling is better for those who do not find it difficult, based on the Almighty's saying: ﴿And that you fast is better for you, if you only knew.﴾ (Al-Baqarah: 184).
