The answer

If a man has intercourse with his wife during the daytime in , and he is unaware that the ruling for travel has ceased, he is not liable for expiation, and only needs to make up that day, because he was ignorant of the prohibition. However, if he was aware of the prohibition but ignorant of the necessity of expiation, then it is incumbent upon him. In the case where expiation is obligatory, he must fast for two consecutive months, and feeding the poor is not permissible except for one who is unable to fast. As for the wife, she must repent and make up the day; and if she expiates as a precaution, it is better. If she is unable to fast, she should feed sixty poor people.
