Is it obligatory for one who missed fasting in Ramadan and made it up after the onset of another Ramadan, according to the Malikis, to only make up the fast, or to make up the fast along with feeding the poor?

Delaying the making up of Ramadan (definition) fasts, if due to a valid excuse until the next Ramadan begins, does not necessitate feeding the poor; only the making up of the fasts is required. However, if the delay is without a valid excuse (negligence), then in addition to making up the fasts, the person must offer a minor expiation, which is feeding one poor person for each day, as stated in Al-Mudawwanah Al-Kubra and Ibn Abi Zayd Al-Qayrawani's Risala.
