What is the ruling regarding a woman who broke her fast in Ramadan due to postpartum bleeding (nifas) and continuous breastfeeding, followed by a pregnancy that led to another Ramadan without her making up the missed fasts?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
A woman who breaks her fast in the first due to pregnancy must make up the days she missed. If she breaks her fast in the second Ramadan fearing for herself, she only has to make up the days. However, if she breaks her fast fearing for her fetus, she must make up the days, and the guardian of the fetus must feed a poor person for each day.
