Is it permissible to break the fast in Ramadan to undergo an IVF procedure that requires breaking the the fast, and will Allah forgive us for that, and is expiation (kaffarah) obligatory?

It is advisable to be patient with Allah's decree and to take the lawful means for procreation. If one insists on artificial insemination, the utmost precautions must be taken by monitoring the sample and inserting it directly into the woman's uterus by a trustworthy female doctor who is religious, and avoiding doing so during the daytime in Ramadan (definition) due to the lack of necessity.
