If one breaks their fast in due to severe thirst, fear of perishing, or extreme hardship, they are required to abstain for the rest of the day after consuming what alleviates the harm, and then make up that day later. It is not permissible for them to continue eating and drinking; rather, they should consume only what is necessary and then abstain until sunset.
