Is it permissible to play the Holy Quran at a low volume in the workplace despite the objection of the non-Muslim manager?

Listening to the Qur'an in the morning or at any time is desirable, and the listener shares the reward with the reciter. There is no harm in listening to the Qur'an while working, but if the direct supervisor objects to it, it is better to look for another job. If no other job is available and there is a need for work, then one must adhere to the supervisor's conditions as long as they do not contradict the Sharia (definition), including turning off the device during work.
