Does the pilgrim and the one on whose behalf the pilgrimage was performed return as on the day their mothers gave birth to them if a man performs Hajj on behalf of his relative, while the pilgrim receives the full reward?

The reward and virtue of Hajj for the one on whose behalf it is performed include returning from his sins as on the day his mother bore him. The proxy (na'ib) is hoped to receive a great reward for his kindness to his brother and for performing the ritual on his behalf, as well as for the independent acts of worship he performs in the Haram (definition), such as prayer, remembrance (dhikr), and circumambulation (tawaf (definition)). It has been stated in the fatwas of the Permanent Committee that the reward is for the one on whose behalf the Hajj is performed, and the proxy receives a great reward. Some scholars believe that the reward of Hajj reaches both the proxy and the one on whose behalf it is performed, due to Allah's vast mercy and great favor, as Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty is ample for both of them," and Ibn Hazm affirmed this. As for evaluating a person's Hajj on behalf of another, that is up to Allah Almighty.
