What is the ruling on one who died on the 30th of Ramadan, having intended to pray Eid, and people testified to his righteousness and good companionship, and he passed away without suffering or illness, having exceeded eighty years of age?

What has been mentioned about the man and people testifying to his goodness is a good sign and an indication of a good ending. For in the Hadith (definition): "You are Allah’s witnesses on earth," and "If Allah intends good for a servant, He uses him," meaning He enables him to perform a righteous deed before his death, then takes his soul while he is upon it. It is mentioned that whoever dies after fasting Ramadan (definition), or after performing Hajj or Umrah (definition), Paradise becomes obligatory for him. Likewise, whoever says "There is no god but Allah," or gives charity seeking Allah's countenance, or fasts a day seeking Allah's countenance, and then his life is sealed with it, he will enter Paradise.
