How should one act regarding helping women who are not unlawful for me to marry, while keeping in mind the Hadith: "No one of you should be alone with a woman except in the presence of a Mahram," and the Hadith: "If a servant is aiding his brother, Allah is aiding him"?

The Hadith (definition): "No man is to be alone with a woman unless she has a Mahram (definition) with her" is authentic and agreed upon. It is a general prohibition against being alone with a non-Mahram woman due to the evils that may result from it. The Hadith: "Indeed, Allah Almighty helps the servant as long as the servant helps his brother" is also authentic and does not contradict the first. The assistance required in it is conditional upon it not leading to falling into something forbidden. Otherwise, it is forbidden, according to the Almighty's saying: "And do not cooperate in sin and aggression."
