What is to be done if the mother and sister work in a mixed environment and finish work late, while the son fears being a "dayyūth" (cuckold/pimp/panderer to indecency) and has no say in the home, being the youngest and having no other source of income?

It is permissible for a woman to work in commerce and nursing if she adheres to the Sharia (definition) controls, such as hijab (definition), lowering the gaze, not being alone with non-mahram (definition) men, or forbidden mixing with them, and limiting conversations with them to what is necessary. The Permanent Committee has issued a fatwa (definition) permitting women to work in commerce, selling, and buying, as long as it does not lead to her exposing her adornment, traveling without a mahram, or mixing with men in a way that instills fear of temptation. It is preferable for a woman to abstain from selling and buying if she is not in need of it. The mother and sister should be gently advised if they violate any of these controls. If advice is not effective, intervention to prevent the sister from working, if possible, and seeking assistance from relatives if necessary, should be considered, while noting that it is better for the mother to leave work if there are children who can support her.
