Is it true that not forgiving those who spoke about me leads to Allah's not forgiving me on the Day of Resurrection?

The notion that "whoever does not forgive will not be forgiven by Allah" is incorrect. The Lawgiver has permitted the wronged person to seek retribution and defend themselves. However, it is better for a Muslim to pardon and overlook, in order to attain the reward of those who forgive, which includes entering Paradise and Allah's forgiveness for them.
