The question

Is it permissible for someone afflicted with envy (hasad) or magic (sihr) to stop their daily recitation (wird) and suffice with reading Surat Al-Baqarah and the legitimate ruqyah daily with the intention of healing, knowing that they are busy with work? And is that considered abandoning the Qur’an?

The answer

There is no harm in stopping the daily litany (wird) to focus on reciting Al-Baqarah and (Islamic exorcism). The best approach, however, is to combine both. One who dedicates their recitation to a specific part of the Quran for a particular need is not considered to have abandoned the Quran, because the abandonment that is warned against is the complete cessation of recitation and failure to act upon it.
