What is the ruling on a husband fondling his wife in the anus, while attempting anal penetration, even though the husband is aware of the danger in doing so?

Anal sex with one's wife is a grave indecency and a major sin. To remedy this sin, one must avoid its causes, seek help from one's wife, turn to Allah through supplication and humble entreaty, magnify the sin and fear Allah's punishment, regret what has passed, beware of the approaching end of life, choose righteous companions, and stay away from anything that arouses desires.
