The answer

There is no doubt that sin has a negative impact on the sinner in this world and the Hereafter. Whatever affliction and distress befalls a servant is only because of sins, as Allah Almighty said: "And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much." All deficiency and evil are caused by sins, whether it be deficiency in wealth, health, or faith. Sins corrupt the heart, and if the heart is corrupted, the whole body is corrupted. Indeed, sin indicates a deficiency in the intellect of its perpetrator, for if he were of sound mind, he would not have responded to a fleeting desire and exposed himself to punishment. Allah has described hearts attached to foreign women as diseased hearts. Seeing alluring women and talking with them may cause confusion for men, weaken their memory, and lower their mental performance. This may be a punishment from Allah Almighty for the sinner for his sin, but this punishment is not inevitable, and there are many reasons for lifting the punishment from the sinner, such as repentance and seeking forgiveness.
