Is abstaining from procreation for fear of miscarriage, and relying solely on natural contraception, considered birth control and Haram (forbidden) in Islam, and is the speaker's belief that God punished her by depriving her of a successful pregnancy due to her previous decision to suffice with two children a bad assumption about God?

There is no objection to using birth control pills with the husband's permission, although one should not overuse them, because a large progeny is a legitimate goal [of Islamic law]. The fear of miscarriage is not a justification unless it has a health impact on the mother, and a doctor should be consulted. One should not be content with one or two children, and birth control should not be practiced except out of a need and a recognized benefit.
