Is it permissible for a non-Muslim to donate blood?

The basic principle regarding medical treatment is that it should be with what is permissible by Sharia (definition). The use of flowing blood (dam masfuh) is forbidden by the text of the Quran. However, if a person is in dire need of it, and it is the only way to save them, and it is highly probable that they will benefit from it, then there is no harm in it, according to His Almighty's saying: "But whoever is forced by necessity, neither desiring it nor transgressing its limit, there is no sin upon him." Therefore, there is no objection to donating blood if it does not harm the donor, and there is no objection to requesting it to save the lives of those in dire need.
