What is the ruling on publishing the question "I performed tayammum with water, with water, with water" – which is considered a prank – on social media? And does that fall within the scope of ridiculing religion?

A question like this is not considered mockery of religion unless its asker intentionally meant to mock and belittle the religion. This is because the reality of mocking religion lies in words and actions that indicate disparagement and belittlement of it. Imam Al-Ghazali defined mockery as: "Disregard, contempt, and pointing out flaws and deficiencies in a way that provokes laughter."

Tayammum (definition), in Islamic law, is performed with earth instead of water for those who cannot find it or are unable to use it, as stated in the Almighty's saying: "And if you find no water, then perform tayammum with pure earth and rub therewith your faces and hands." Linguistically, tayammum means intention. In Islamic law, it predominantly refers to wiping with pure earth. Its description is that the person performing tayammum strikes the pure earth once with their hands and wipes their face and palms with them.
