Usury is absolutely forbidden in Islamic by the Quran, , and scholarly consensus; it is one of the major sins. Allah has permitted trade and forbidden usury, and He has cursed its devourer and its enabler. It is mentioned in the noble that the devourer of usury is among the seven destructive sins. It has been confirmed that the devourer of usury will be punished in the Hereafter. As for the method of refining the soul and staying away from the forbidden, we recommend fasting, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, recommended.
