What is the ruling on using a usurious bank's credit card and withdrawing money from it, knowing the interest rate, and being compelled to do so due to an urgent need such as marriage? Can the interest be considered a fee for services?
It is not permissible to deal with usurious banks because their dealings are based on disobedience to Allah and transgression of His command. This borrowing with an increase is pure usury and cannot be considered a مقابل [return for] services. Marriage is a great matter that must be built on piety and seeking what is lawful, and it is not a necessity that permits borrowing with usury. So whoever is able to marry through a lawful means, let him do so, and whoever is not able, let him fast and busy himself with the worship of Allah.
