If the means and tapes include propaganda for something unlawful, then subscribing to them is forbidden because it is a form of cooperation in sin. However, if they do not contain anything unlawful, then subscribing to them is permissible. If a person does not know their status, then it is better to stay away from them. This applies if the subscription is free; but if it involves money, then it becomes gambling, ignorance (jahalah), and (excessive uncertainty), which is forbidden.
