The answer

Debts are divided into immediate (due) and deferred. Deferred debts do not have to be paid before their due date. As for immediate debts that the debtor is able to pay, they must be settled immediately if their owners demand them, because procrastination by one who is able is an injustice. However, an immediate debt does not have to be paid unless its owner demands it. Based on this, one must promptly pay immediate debts whose owners have demanded payment and have not agreed to a postponement, as long as the debtor is able. As for debts that are not yet due, or those whose owners have not demanded payment, there is no sin in delaying their payment to invest and grow the money.
