The answer

There is no objection to a man or woman praying in a bedroom, due to the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "The earth has been made for me a place of prostration and a means of purification. So, any man of my Ummah whom the time for prayer overtakes, should pray." The Prophet used to pray supererogatory prayers and perform night vigil in his wives' chambers. A man is commanded to pray with the congregation, but if he misses the prayer or has an excuse, or prays supererogatory prayers in his bedroom, there is no objection. If he misses congregational prayer without an excuse and prays in his room, his prayer is valid, but he incurs sin for abandoning the congregation. There is no difference between a bedroom and other pure places in the house.
