Is it permissible to masturbate to avoid fornication, knowing that it is associated with watching pornography?
The questioner, afflicted in his religion, is advised to return to Allah with sincere repentance, abandon sins, and turn to acts of obedience. It is emphasized that the greatest calamity is abandoning prayer, because prayer forbids indecency and evil. Repentance includes establishing the five daily prayers with the congregation, refraining from indecencies and everything that leads to them, and avoiding the viewing of forbidden things. It is also advised to increase acts of obedience and keep company with righteous people. If he is able to marry, let him do so to protect his chastity, and if not, he should fast. He must also keep away from bad companions and associate with those who guide to the path of Allah.
