Is it permissible to pray while driving a car, by analogy with the Prophet's prayer (peace be upon him) atop his she-camel?

Facing the Qiblah and completing all pillars (arkan) are conditions for the validity of prayer, unless the worshipper is unable to do so. Obligatory prayers (fard) are not permissible for someone riding a mount unless there is a necessity, and in such a case, gesturing (i'ma) is permissible. If one is permitted to pray while riding, they must face the Qiblah at the time of the opening takbeer (takbeerat al-ihram (definition)), and then they may pray in the direction their mount takes them. As for supererogatory prayers (nafilah), it is permissible for a traveler to pray them while riding, facing a direction other than the Qiblah. The ruling on prayer while riding applies to modern means of transportation, with the avoidance of praying while driving.
