The question

Is it permissible to use the main hall in the new Islamic center as a hall for meetings and social events, in addition to using it as a prayer area for Friday, Tarawih, and Eid prayers, knowing that daily prayers are held in the old mosque? And if that is permissible, what are the regulations for its use, and is it obligatory to remove shoes when attending social events therein?

The answer

It is permissible to use the hall where Friday and Tarawih prayers are sometimes performed for meetings if the purpose is for Muslims to gather, unite their word, and solve their social problems, provided that the meetings are free from religiously forbidden acts such as singing and intermingling. This hall does not take the ruling of a mosque because it is not designated as such. It is permissible to collect donations in the mosque, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did so. It is permissible to bring shoes into the hall if they are clean, and praying with them is permissible.
