The answer

If the question is about the number of prostrations (sajadat) in a raka'ah of Witr prayer, there is no disagreement among Muslims that Witr, like other prayers, is only valid with two prostrations, as they are an essential pillar in every raka'ah. However, if the question is about the number of rak'ahs in Witr prayer, Witr can only be performed with one, three, five, seven, and so on, rak'ahs, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Witr is a duty upon every Muslim. So whoever wishes to pray Witr with five [rak'ahs], let him do so; whoever wishes to pray Witr with three, let him do so; and whoever wishes to pray Witr with one, let him do so." The best way to perform Witr is in the last part of the night.
