What is the ruling on the difference in the number of Rak'ahs in the five daily prayers?

The specific number of Rak'ahs, circumambulations (Tawaf (definition)), and lashes for the fornicator cannot be comprehended by reason, as their underlying meaning is not rationally discernible. This serves as a test of the servant's submission and surrender to Allah. The Companions did not question the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, about such matters because they knew that inquiring about them was not part of the required knowledge. Therefore, a Muslim must submit to Allah in His judgments and not add more than, "We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination."
