What should I do if I call the Adhan before its time?

Among the conditions for the validity of the adhan (definition) (call to prayer) is that it must be made after the entry of the prayer's time. Therefore, the adhan is not valid if made before its time and is prohibited by the consensus of jurists. Whoever performs the adhan before its time must repeat it when the time for prayer enters. An exception to this is the adhan for Fajr (dawn prayer), due to the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Indeed, Bilal calls the adhan at night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls the adhan." We know of no disagreement on this matter, except concerning Fajr.
