Is it permissible to complete the Tasbeeh after an interruption for talking, watching TV, or listening to the Quran, or must one start anew?

The remembrance of Allah is among the best acts of devotion, offering immense benefits, including: reassuring hearts, and serving as a sign of the vitality and purification of the heart of the one who performs it.

The best type of remembrance is that of the tongue accompanied by the presence of the heart. Scholars have stated that the remembrance of the heart is the most elevated and majestic of all forms of remembrance. This involves contemplating the greatness, majesty, and signs of Allah, or being mindful of Him in the heart concerning His commands and prohibitions. Remembrance by the tongue alone carries reward, but it does not reach the level of one who combines remembrance of both the tongue and the heart.

Regarding building upon previous remembrance in case of an interruption, a distinction is made: - If the Sharia (definition) has specified a number for this remembrance (such as the remembrances for prayers), then there is no objection to building upon what has preceded. - If the Sharia has not specified this remembrance, then restricting it to a certain number is not desirable, as it could lead to innovations.
