Is it permissible to inform the family of a husband who does not perform ghusl after major ritual impurity (janabah) so they may arbitrate between the spouses, and what is the ruling on remaining with him if he does not respond?

Whoever is in a state of janabah (definition) must perform ghusl (definition). Praying without purification is a grave sin that requires repentance and making up the missed prayers. As for one who abandons prayer entirely, the preponderant opinion among scholars is that he is a disbeliever. It is permissible to inform his family or someone who can influence him to deter him from this. If the husband insists on not performing ghusl without an excuse or on abandoning prayer, the wife has the right to seek divorce. There is no evidence linking the abandonment of ghusl with organic diseases.
