Is it permissible to make up missed prayers by performing Tayammum?

The four madhhabs agree on the permissibility of making up missed prayers with tayammum (definition) when one is unable to perform ablution (due to illness or lack of water). However, they differed on the number of prayers that can be performed with a single tayammum. The majority of scholars held that only one obligatory prayer is permitted with a single tayammum, while others maintained the permissibility of performing more than one obligatory prayer with a single tayammum, as long as the person who performed tayammum does not invalidate it.
