Is it permissible to perform tayammum before the prescribed time for prayer and pray with it more than one obligatory and supererogatory prayer? And does tayammum remain valid after the time for prayer has expired, as is the case with ablution (wudu), as Ibn Taymiyyah decreed?

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah and Imam Abu Hanifah held the view that tayammum (definition) (dry ablution) is valid before the entry of the prayer time and is not invalidated by its departure. This opinion was affirmed by the Permanent Committee and Shaykh Ibn Uthaymeen, who based their arguments on Quranic verses and Prophetic hadiths indicating that tayammum is a complete and purifying ablution, and that it serves as a substitute for water ablution, thus taking its ruling.
