Is there a practice of istikhara for the Prophet (peace be upon him)? And is there a supplication to improve crops?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, taught the Companions the Istikhara prayer and its supplication when embarking on any matter. It consists of two non-obligatory rak'ahs, after which one recites the well-known Istikhara supplication, asking Allah that if the matter is good for him in his religion, his livelihood, and the outcome of his affairs, that He decree it for him, facilitate it, and bless him in it. And if it is evil for him, that He divert it from him and divert him from it, and decree for him what is good wherever it may be, and then make him content with it. He should mention his specific need in the supplication. As for improving agriculture, there is no specific supplication mentioned for it. However, a Muslim can supplicate with general prayers that encompass the well-being of both this world and the Hereafter, such as: "Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire." And "O Allah, set right for me my religion which is the safeguard of my affairs, and set right for me my worldly [affairs] wherein is my living, and set right for me my Afterlife to which is my return; and make life for me an increase in every good, and make death a comfort for me from every evil. O Allah, I ask You for all good, the immediate and the delayed, what I know of it and what I do not know. And I seek refuge in You from all evil, the immediate and the delayed, what I know of it and what I do not know." And "O Ever-Living, O Sustainer, by Your mercy I seek aid. Set right for me all my affairs, and do not entrust me to myself even for the blink of an eye." And "O Allah, there is no ease except in what You have made easy, and You make the difficult easy if You wish."
