The answer

Scholars have differed regarding making up the regular prayers. Some are of the view that it is permissible to make them up, even during the prohibited times (the Shafi'is). Others believe they should be made up, but not during the prohibited times (a view among the Hanbalis). The Malikis do not believe in making up supererogatory prayers except for the regular Sunnah prayer of Fajr. According to the view that holds making up supererogatory prayers to be permissible, the for the next prayer does not prevent one from making up the regular Sunnah prayer that preceded it.
